Bicycle Facilities & Alternative Transportation Plan
A recently completed analysis of walking, biking and access to transit service in La Mesa is available for review. The Bicycle Facilities and Alternative Transportation Plan incorporates the concept of “complete streets” into the city’s transportation planning program.
If you have any questions about the La Mesa Bicycle Facilities and Alternative Transportation Plan, please contact Senior Planner Allyson Kinnard at 619.667.1196.
The portion of the funding for this project was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, administered through the County of San Diego and the San Diego Association of Governments Active Transportation Program.
The goal of the active transportation program is to reduce chronic disease through policy, environmental, and organizational changes that target three focus areas:
- Healthy physical activity
- Healthy nutrition
- Healthy school environments
