Parking Citations
Citations not paid by the time indicated on the back of the citation may result in the citation being doubled, a $10 fee being added, and the citation being included on vehicle registration fees. Fortunately, we offer a number of convenient payment methods to help avoid fines or late fees.
Pay by Mail:
If there was an envelope provided with your hand-written citation, place your payment (check or money order only) in the provided envelope with the citation. If the citation was electronically generated and no envelope was provided you may mail your payment to the Parking Citation Processing Center at the address listed on the citation (P.O. Box 11923, Santa Ana, CA 92711).
Pay Online:
For your convenience, a safe and secure online payment method is also available. Just visit www.paymycite.com/lamesa and enter your citation number when prompted to be guided through the online payment process. When paying online you can use your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card.
Pay by Phone:
Please have your citation number handy and call the Parking Citation Processing Center at 1-855-544-9373. A customer service representative will accept your payment information over the phone and update your citation record in a single phone call.
Pay In Person:
As always, you can visit La Mesa City Hall during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday (and alternating Fridays), 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., to pay your citation. The City will accept, cash, checks, money orders, and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), as well as Apple Pay and Android Pay.
Have fines or late fees? Can’t pay all at once? We’ll try to work with you. Just call the Parking Citation Processing Center at 1-855-544-9373 and ask the customer service representative about a payment plan.
Low Income Payment Plan Options:
Section 40220 of the California Vehicle Code allows for installment payments to qualifying low-income individuals who apply within 120 days from the issuance of a notice of parking violation, or within 10 days after an administrative hearing determination, whichever is later. For more information about the low-income payment plan, call 1-866-353-5867 or visit www.paymycite.com/lamesa for links to payment plan information and application forms.
Contesting A Citation & Requesting A Review
You may contest a parking citation within 21 days of issue. To request an administrative review online, visit www.paymycite.com/lamesa and select the “Contest Citation” option. You can also call the Parking Citation Processing Center at 1-855-544-9373 or fill out a Parking Violation Review Form, which you can obtain at the La Mesa Police Department or the Finance Department.
