Overview
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the procurement of city goods and services and for the disposal of city surplus equipment and vehicles. 


Register to be a Vendor
You may register your business  using the PlanetBids System to be a potential vendor for the City.


Public Works Construction

All licensed contractors are invited to register  for the city's List of Qualified Bidders for Public Works Construction by following these stepsAll public works construction bids are posted on PlanetBids.

Please note: The City has changed the registration process this year to include specific categories of work for public works construction. In order to be included on the List of Qualified Bidders, contractors must select at least one of the Public Works Construction categories (99902-99922) on PlanetBids.

The City routinely issues online Invitations for Bids and Requests for Proposals or Qualifications through PlanetBids for Public Works Construction, Goods, Services and Professional Contracts. View Current Bids and Bid Results.


Environmentally Preferable Purchasing

Vendors that offer sustainable products or services are encouraged to include that in their online registration. Using the categories search “Environment” and select all items that apply to your business.

Small Business Assistance / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
As a recipient of federal funds administered by Caltrans, the City of La Mesa encourages vendors to take advantage of outreach programs. The U.S. Small Business Administration  offers resources to assist small and DBE businesses.
